14th July 1921

Dear Sir,

I have to inform you that advice had been received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies that it is His Majesty's wish that the King's Gold Cup won by the Australian Imperial Forces Crew at Henley-on-Thames Regatta in May 1919, should be used as a permanent trophy and be competed for annually in the Interstate Eight Oar Race of Australia.

Instructions have been issued to the Director of the Australian War Museum to hand the cup over to this Department where it may be obtained by a duly accredited member of your Association. You will be advised immediately the cup is received in this Department.

Yours faithfully,
(signed)
Secretary

(Handwritten note:)
